That's pretty decent of him. A lot of stars would have yelled an obscenity at you and maybe thrown their cell phone at you as well. And then reported to the police that you assaulted them and stole their phone.

A classy guy.

And I'll always thank him for his work in Apollo 13, Toy Story (all 3) and The Green Mile.

Hey, Tom, that movie was awful. Can I get a refund on the Bittorrent download time?
09:01 AM on 08/17/2011
The movie was awful. As for Hanks going broke, I'm sure his accountant will qualify this action as a tax write off.

He doesn't have to do this. If anything, produce ten ultra low budget flix at 100K each.
You'll probably have six stinkers, one "Plan Nine", two half way decent and one that will be on the must see list. You'll avoid tax penalties, get people in the biz and probably be too busy for more pieces like the one that no one can remember the name to. ("Return to Ishtar'?)

As long as he doesn't act in them. Stick to helping good stuff like Band of Brothers and The Pacific get made.

Poor Tom. He was being a nice guy and now that this story has been written (slow news day I guess!) he's going to have people hitting him up for ticket money constantly now!

Cant stand Hollywood any more, will not pay to see movies. These hollywood stars dont seem to understand that once they start spouting their political views publicly, and once they start to criticize people with a different point of view, they lose half their fan base. I no longer like Hanks due to comments he has made in the past . Hollywood has lost its glitter and morals.Hanks is not the only actor to lose fans. They should keep their political viewpoints to themselves and just entertain us.
09:18 PM on 08/16/2011
Hey buddy they have just as much right to voice their views as much as you or I. You can like or dislike him for that but he should not have any less right to voice those views then any other person in the US.

"....and once they start to criticize people with a different point of view, they lose half their fan base. I no longer like Hanks due to comments he has made in the past ."

Seems like a little bit of a contradiction there. I don't get people who won't see a movie because of the lead actor/actress political view. You don't have to like somones views to enjoy a movie they are in. Does that effect how well they play the part? I guess its your decision to make but just find that train of though silly.

Either way people need to stop with the whole your entitled to your own opinion as long as its the same as mine train of thought. You have the right to your views and to express them as do I or TH, even if you don't agree with them.

I haven't for several years now, I will NOT buy movie tickets or DVD'S at all! I also don't buy music for that same reason, I beleive Hollywood should stay our of politics, they are not reflective of middle America! There are no morals in Hollywood with the exception of a few.

Regardless if they are representive of the population or not doesn't matter. If they are US citizens they have the same rights as you, or I. Just because they live a different life then you or I doesn't strip them of that.
