Four-Year-Old Chinese Girl Caught On Camera Driving A Car (Video)

Four Year Old

Huffington Post UK   First Posted: 02/09/11 10:31 BST Updated: 01/11/11 10:12 GMT

A four-year-old girl in China has been caught on camera driving a car down a busy road.

The girl's father allowed her to drive the vehicle, and even apparently placed wooden blocks on the accelerator because her feet couldn't reach the pedals.

Admittedly we have very little context for this one... But the video is worth the watch anyway.

Check it out to watch the cute little 'un narrowly avoid causing the deaths of dozens of people...

For a four year old, she did remarkably well.
However, NO four year old-or even 12 year old-- should be behind the wheel on a heavily traveled road...I'm horrified that this "father" put other people's lives (as well as his daughter's and his own) at risk like that!
Glad I wasn't on that road--YIKES!

"However, NO four year old-or even 12 year old-- should be behind the wheel"

Why not? It helps with population control.

Is that "It's A Small World After All" playing in the car???

Smart parents teach their children to drive early. In an emergency they may have to be the ones who drive you to a hospital, etc.

Right, I can just see a 4 year old driving on any Los Angeles freeway in high traffic to a hospital not acting hysterically and driving like a calm defensive driver... I'd like to see a kid driving on the 134 when big shot Studio suits in their german imports are whizzing through cars at 90 mph...

In a real emergency you do your best, at least you were prepared. For some they do not need to take a freeway to get to a hospital.

Um, how are her feet able to touch the pedals? Is this real?

From the article:
"The girl's father allowed her to drive the vehicle, and even apparently placed wooden blocks on the accelerator because her feet couldn't reach the pedals."

I've been to China and by the 3rd day I refused to sit in the front seat of a taxi. Bumper cars, with real cars.

She actually did better that 99% of the country.
06:41 PM on 09/05/2011
Chinese taxi's front seat is much safer, at least there you usually have safety belts in those VW Santanas.
06:57 PM on 09/05/2011
So my choice was a seat belt or heart failure due to shock. Damned if I did, damned if I didn't. Seriously, their driving scared me to death.

Been to Taiwan too. Taxi's are Camry's but the cabbies watch TV while they drive.

She is adorable, though driving with a steering wheel close to her abdomen. A slight breaking and it could hurt her badly.

See we don't need government regulations, if a six year old can drive, let her drive, the market will decide, if she causes too many accidents or kills a bicyclist or two, insurance will go up, oh wait, mandated insurance is another government intrusion, so if the parent is sued, oh wait laws are more government intrusion...still we don't need no stinking Regulations, the market will decide, some how or other. Vote Libertarian, let children drive!

And handing the keys of government to him would have the same result as handing the keys of your car to a 4 year old.
06:01 PM on 09/05/2011
Yeah, lets not have a speed limit either, let the "market" decide.

Until you are killed by the 6 year old driving or the guy driving 100 mph down a residential street.

We tried no federal government, it was called the Articles of Confederation. Anyone who can read knows how well that worked.

Now you understand the Libertarian, and increasingly, Republican view of Government. We don't need it.

Its not my view, my comment was meant to mock them.
