Kym Marsh Returns To Work After Baby Polly's Arrival

PA

Kym Marsh returned to the cobbles of Coronation Street from her maternity leave yesterday, five months after the premature birth of her little girl, Polly.

A spokesman for Coronation Street said they were 'delighted' to welcome Kym back. The actress is set for a huge storyline which will see her character Michelle Connor marry Ciaran McCarthy in what has been dubbed the 'soap wedding of the year'.

Kym had been on extended maternity leave since before Christmas after having a problematic pregnancy. She'd had a stitch put in her cervix to try to prevent an early labour, but little Polly still arrived five weeks early and weighing just 4lb 10z.

Kym and her partner, Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas, were left devastated in 2009 when they lost their son Archie who was born 18 weeks prematurely.

What do you think about the length of Kym's maternity leave - just about right, or back on the cobbles a bit too soon?
