Robbie Savage To Train 10 Hours A Day For 'Strictly Come Dancing'

Reborn Robbie Savage Devotes Himself To 'Strictly'

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Robbie Savage has set his sights on the glitter ball trophy and pledged to "put 100% in" to his attempt to win this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The former footballer admitted he was "the underdog" and said he was "intimidated" by appearing on the hit BBC ballroom show which launches on Saturday.

He said: "Success for me would be winning it.

"Now I'm in I'm going to train. You know, I wasn't the best footballer in the world but what I did was was I put 100% in. I'm going to train 10 hours a day."

Savage said his first appearance at the pre-recorded launch show had already provided him with a career first - being cheered rather than booed by a crowd.

He said: "On the red carpet there I said to the dancers, 'That's the first time I've been cheered in my life'."

The Welsh football star, who retired from the game last season and is now a regular fixture on Radio 5 Live, said he expected to get some heavyweight celebrity support.

He said: "Chris Moyles is going to come and Roberto Mancini might come as well."

Savage played with the Manchester City manager at Leicester City.
