Business Secretary Vince Cable has pledged to crackdown on Britain's culture of excessive pay for senior executives. The Cabinet minister signalled moves to make it easier for workers and ordinary shareholders to prevent company bosses being awarded huge sums without delivering exceptional results.

Why not? Senior execs decide the rank n files pay. Why the hell not. It's about time they were accountable to someone.
