Article quote -
"The article, published in the magazine which is distributed by Jehovah's Witnesses across the globe, reportedly warned followers to avoid "false teachers" which it condemned as being "mentally diseased". "

The WatchTower published quote is: "Suppose that a doctor told you to avoid contact with someone who is infected with a contagious, deadly disease. You would know what the doctor means, and you would strictly heed his warning. Well, apostates are 'mentally diseased', and they seek to infect others with their disloyal teachings."

The WatchTower is not talking about ""false teachers"". The WatchTower solidly states "disloyal ones'. This is WatchTower argot for former Jehovah's Witnesses.

Almost all former JWs I have spoken with do not hate active JWs. Many have a bone to pick with the WatchTower's Governing Body.

This is about former followers (those that are disloyal [who have left]) and now attempt to continue to have relationships with their families and friends that still belong to the WatchTower Organization. The WatchTower's severe form of shunning destroys relationships at all levels.

One could say the act of leaving actually indicates their mental disease has been cured.
