Gary Barlow Joined 'X Factor' For His Kids... How Sweet

The Real Reason Gary Barlow Joined 'X Factor'

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Gary Barlow has said he accepted a judging role on the X Factor to impress his kids.

The Take That star revealed that while son Daniel, 11, and daughters Emily, nine and Daisy, two, aren't impressed with his pop performances, they were chuffed when he landed a place on the X Factor panel.

"The reason I did the X Factor is because my kids love it and it's so seldom your kids engage with what you're doing work-wise," he told the Sun.

"My son sits playing Nintendo all the way through my concerts. They're not mad about what I do - but being a judge on the X Factor, they couldn't believe it.

"They were absolutely made up."

He also warned that the gloves will be off once the live shows begin on the ITV1 show.

"I must say, I really get on with Kelly (Rowland) - up until this point. I've noticed the texts have stopped - it's all gone into a new gear."
