Duchess Of Alba Gets Married, Looks A Lot More Fun Than Kate And Wills' Wedding

Spain's flamboyant and fabulous octogenarian, the Duchess of Alba, has wed civil servant Alfonso Diez (a mere 24 years her junior at 61 years old) in a ceremony which looked suspiciously like being far more fun than our own royal wedding back in April.

The twice-widowed gossip column favourite (full name: María del Rosario Cayetana Paloma Alfonsa Victoria Eugenia Fernanda Teresa Francisca de Paula Lourdes Antonia Josefa Fausta Rita Castor Dorotea Santa Esperanza Fitz-James Stuart, Silva, Falcó y Gurtubay) wed Diez despite previous opposition from her six children (who rethought their objections after the Duchess divided her wealth amongst them before getting hitched) as well as the Spanish royal family.

In stark contrast to Will and Kate's traditional and stately Westminster Abbey occasion, the Duchess got married in a Seville palace on Wednesday wearing a ruffled pink knee-length frock and flat shoes - perfect for dancing flamenco in front of the throng of waiting television cameras.

Yes the British royal wedding was undoubtedly a good looking affair, but we can't help thinking it's the Duchess of Alba and not Kate Middleton who knows how to throw a right royal knees up.
