Noel Gallagher Joined By Russell Brand For Video 'High Flying Birds', First Single From Debut Solo Album

Russell Brand Lends Talents To Noel Gallagher Video

Noel Gallagher may no longer have the support of his brother and fellow Oasis alumnus Liam, but he appears to have found a replacement creative partner in crime – his old mate Russell Brand.

For his new video for High Flying Birds, the first single from his debut solo album of the same name, Gallagher has enlisted the help of the controversial presenter turned actor, who appears in a cameo role in the eight-minute pop epic, shot in LA.

Gallagher was a regular phone-in contributor to Brand’s radio show on BBC Radio 2, before the presenter resigned in controversial circumstances following ‘Sachsgate’ – when he and presenter Jonathan Ross made a series of schoolboy prank calls to actor Andrew Sachs about his grand-daughter.

Brand has since very publicly mended his ways, marrying songstress Katy Perry, and turned his attentions to a long-lasting Hollywood career – most recently appearing in a remake of Arthur.

You can see the results of the pair’s collaboration in the video above.

Gallagher is going on tour in the UK with his new material later in the month, High Flying Birds will be released on 17th October 2011, through Sour Mash Records, and is available to pre-order via iTunes.
