French Unknown Berenice Marlohe Cast As 'Bond Girl' In 'Skyfall'

French Unknown Cast As Bond Girl

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Daniel Craig will be joined on the next Bond film by French actress Berenice Marlohe.

Craig will be returning as 007 in the 23rd film - now revealed to be called Skyfall - and he'll be joined by the relatively unknown French TV actress as the new Bond girl, the Daily Mail reports.

Director Sam Mendes screen-tested Berenice at Pinewood studios, along with Helen McCrory - known for playing Draco Malfoy's mother Narcissa in the Harry Potter films - who has also been cast in the film.

Javier Bardem will play the new Bond villain, Naomie Harris will play Miss Moneypenny and Dame Judi Dench will return as M. Ben Wishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Harry Potter star Helen have all been cast in unspecified roles.

Part of the film is to be shot at Duntrune Castle, near Lochgilphead in Argyll.

Patricia Malcolm, who lives in the castle with her husband Robin, said: "They are coming here at the end of February and are going to film for several days.

"They are using the castle - just the outside - it's going to be used for the end of the film. I think it is meant to be James Bond's ancestral home - he will bring all the villains here.

"I believe it's mostly being filmed in China and Turkey. They want a winter scene, so they are going to bring their own snow."

The title is now known to be Skyfall after MGM and Sony registered the websites JamesBond-Skyfall.com and Skyfallthefilm.com, the Sun reports.

The new Bond movie is set for a 2012 release, marking the 50th anniversary of the successful secret agent series.
