'Harry Potter' Actor Up On London Riot Charges

A Harry Potter actor has been charged with violent disorder in the wake of the London riots.

Jamie Waylett, 22, of Camden, north London, was arrested on September 20 following the riots which broke out across the capital in August.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "He was charged with violent disorder, having an article of intent to destroy or damage property, receiving stolen goods, and also cultivating cannabis plants."

The actor, who plays Vincent Crabbe in the popular wizard films, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on September 29 and was released on conditional bail, a spokeswoman for the court said.

Waylett has appeared in six of the Potter movies.
