Would You Try The 'Elixir Of Life' Drug That Promises An Extra 70 Years Of Life?

Exilir Of Life Pill That Promises To Help You Live

Have you always wondered what life would be like in 150 years?

Well, your dream may well come true, as scientists have created an ‘elixir of life’ pill that can potentially help you live longer – a lot longer in fact.

Professor Peter Smith from New South Wales University in Australia claims that due to advances in medicine and public health, experts have created drugs and medical therapies which can help people live longer, healthier lives and potentially celebrate their 150th birthday.

These wonder pills promise to slow the ageing process and aid body repair, and could be hitting the shelves as soon as five years.

“I think there is real hope we can extend human life by some decades further. The aim is not just to eke out extra existence but to facilitate a longer healthy life. We just don’t want to live longer, we want to live longer well,” Professor Smith told the Express.

“These drugs will help with the regeneration of cells, regeneration of processes in the body, so we expect people will live well, much longer.”

With the current life expectancy in the UK being 80, could these body-repairing drugs be the key to another 70 years of life?

The 5 groups of people who live to over 100 have 2 things in common. Eating beans such as kidney beans baked beans lima beans etc and walking 30 minutes a day. Add swimming to those 2 routines, because most of the places those people live don't have pools and you're well on your way towards 150.

Based on the fact that the average Baby Boomer has insufficient savings for retirement, they better come up with another pill that makes you smart enough to figure out how to make enough money to support yourself until age 150. Otherwise they better build a bunch of huge storage facilities where they can store poor old people. Interesting how few times the economic issue is raised with the extension of life issue. Heck, those delightful Koch brothers can afford to live to be 1000 years old and then some.

This would be great but some harsh laws about birth rates would have to be passed, we are already out of balance because people live so much longer, this world can not have more births than deaths every year thats a recipe for over population and the problems that would come with it. But any one or two child policies from governments would be met with strong resistence. Even though birth rates are on the decline in the west they are booming in third world countries.

"scientists have created an ‘elixir of life’ pill that can potentially help you live longer"
I presume, from the physical dimensions of the capsule illustrated, that it also contains all the nutrients necessary to sustain daily life. Otherwise, we’ll be killing each other in fights for our everyday needs, long before we become centenarians. Wouldn't it have been more sensible to have concentrated on inventing a Smart Pill first? Although until we do, how are we to reason even that thought though?

I'm definitely up for it. Longer lifespans mean we'll have to think long and hard about low-impact lifetyles. Conspicuous consumption and consumerism will have to go out the window for starters.... which isn't such a bad thing when you think about it.

I sincerely hope these treatments, assuming they exist, are never released. We have serious problems already, not just with massive and unsustainable overpopulation - which is not just doing vast damage to the environment, but is one of the reasons so many of us are living in poverty - but with an aging population. Our society would not be able to function if it were common to live to 150, and we would have even less chance than we do now of ever being able to alleviate global poverty and reduce the destruction of our planet.

Of course, the vague and unsubstantiated nature of this article does not speak well of its reliability. I sincerely doubt that these treatments do or will exist.

If they ever do only a handful of people will be able to afford them. You can gaurentee that you won't be finding this on the shelves in places like Africa, or other third-world countries.

Well if science can do this then I'm sure they have an immunization to prevent cancer. I'm sure they can actually tag cancer cells & boost our immune system to attack & destroy them. They already know that schitzophrenia is caused by an imbalance in dopamine production & or levels so why not cure this so that millions of people could actually live a normal life. Quantity of life without quality of life would be of no real benefit.

The only problem is that we would have 90yr olds kicking sand in our faces at the beach.

If it aids in body repair, who would wait until they reached 90 to start taking the pills? That would be stupid.

First off, with people living longer and longer, we are already overpopulated. With another 70 years of life, the planet could not support all the people. Who would want to live like that?
