One hundred jobs will be cut at Rupert Murdoch’s The Times newspaper, it has been confirmed.
Editor James Harding has said more cuts at New International’s Sunday Times will be made soon.
There are currently 700 staff at the flagship newspaper and journalists will be asked to consider voluntary redundancy, claim reports.
According to The Guardian: “News International sources blamed the tough economic climate and the rising cost of newsprint for the cuts, which follow restructuring of the company's commercial departments.”
The Times's cover price is not thought to be at risk of changing.
