They should worry, and more to the point, they should save. Save, save, save.

This doesn't surprise me as lots of girls feel the pressure to have top of range clothes and electronics and parents simply can't meet that demand with their own earning, especially during a recession, when they have less disposable income to spend. Thus, girls are told if you want something you either have to save up and get a job when you turn 16. The pressure of trying to get any job in the current labour market is difficult, even for people with degree's. Many, many high school pupils are slaving away their weekends to get the minimum wage, but most aren't and thats because they can't get employed; thus causing them to feel stressed.
