If you've got a bit of cash swishing about in your bank account and are in the market a piece of haute couture, we suggest you head to Christie's pronto.

The rather fabulous 20th Century Decorative Art & Design auction includes original drawings by 1950s couture illustrator Rene Gruau, who worked with the likes of Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Balmain and Lanvin during couture's heyday.

The auction features a total of 130 lots and is expected for raise £2 million. Any of Rene's illustrations would be just perfect as a Christmas stocking filler. Hint hint.
