Women Have Premature Orgasms Too, Say Scientists

Female Premature Orgasms – Women Suffer Too, Says Study

A Portugese survey has discovered that it's not only men who can peak too early in the bedroom, as 40% of women admitted they too had suffered from premature orgasms.

Researchers from the Hospital Magalhaes Lemos found that women climaxing early was more common than they thought, with 3% deeming it a 'chronic problem'.

Out of 510 Portugese women questioned, 40% confessed to finishing early and 14% admitting to it happening frequently.

The study questioned the women, aged between 18 to 45 years old, by a mail-in survey and asked them how frequent they reached orgasm, had they experience early orgasm and whether it had caused them distress.

"For this group, female premature orgasm is more than bothersome," says study researcher Serafim Carvalho. "We think it's as serious a distress as it is in men."

The researchers are hoping that their findings will encourage further research into sexual dysfunction.
