Greater Manchester Police have arrested a 14-year-old girl on suspicion of murdering her mother.

The arrest was made after the police were called to a house on Bolton, Lancashire on Sunday.

The girl, who cannot be named, has been released on bail until 3 November.

The 42-year-old victim, who has also not been named, was found with injuries in her home. She was pronounced dead a short time later. Police believe the woman was a drug user.

A police spokesman said: "Paramedics attempted to revive the woman and took her to hospital for treatment where she died."

I can not contemplate any child of this tender age doing such a thing, how have we reach this dreadful state of affairs in our country ?. I wish I knew the answer, but I think it is partly that we no longer have the religious faith we had forty or fifty years ago.
