Scotttish Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie has apologised for an online cartoon portraying Alex Salmond in Arabic dress.

The image was supposed to be a joke after Salmond compared Qatar and Scotland, but Rennie said he had "withdrawn" it, adding that it was published on his day off: "I apologise for the offence that has clearly been caused by our cartoon on the first minister's remarks in Qatar.
