X Factor Weathers Another Scandal, This Time It's Racism!

X Factor bosses have investigated after one of the show's contestants claimed they were racially abused by another singer.

The Sun reported that Derry Mensah, from boyband The Risk, complained after he got into a row with Kitty Brucknell and thought she called him an "evil black b*****d".

Brucknell denied the claim and the pair were quizzed by show staff. She later apologised for the row.

An X Factor spokeswoman said: "There was an argument between two contestants which was looked into by production and the matter has been resolved."

Brucknell has divided viewers of the hit ITV1 talent show with her over-the-top performances and outrageous costumes. Last week she admitted she would not "win a popularity contest".

The show has hit the headlines recently with a number of behind the scenes problems including reports of a row between judges Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos.

The former Destiny's Child singer was replaced by Alexandra Burke last weekend after dropping out due to illness.

Other problems include girl band Rhythmix being forced to change their name to Little Mix after a charity of the same name complained and Ashley Baptiste walking out on The Risk, saying he was "not truly committed" to the band.

The talent show has lost viewers and was beaten in the ratings battle by Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend.
