La Senza Recalls Meerkat Hottie After Safety Concerns

La Senza, the luxury lingerie company, has issued an urgent product recall after safety fears over its Meerkat Hottie toy.

According to an advert in Friday's Metro newspaper La Senza said the cuddly gifts had a defected ribbon which could cause "serious injury".

"We have become aware that all Meerkat Hotties, sold between 23/09/11 - 31/10/11 have a manufacturing defect with the ribbon attached to the product that could lead to serious injury", said the advert.

La Senza recommends all customers who purchased the £10 toy to return it to one of their stores, where they will receive a full refund.

The Meerkat Hottie would remind anyone of Alexsander Orlov. The furry creature became a legend the moment he first hit our screens in the comparethemarket.com commercials.

Overnight, the cute Russian aristocrat was proclaimed TV phenomenon, social media rockstar with 800,000 Facebook fans and 50,000 Twitter followers, and best-selling author.

His autobiography “A Simple’s Life” beat every record, including those of Katie Price and Keith Richards.

He revitalised the British advertisement industry. And promoted the species to national figure.

Meerkats have been immensely popular in every sector.

The original soft toy in sale at Harrods was sold out before it even made it to the store. The National Geographic Channel documentary Meerkats 3D aired in October.
