The game you've been waiting for, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, arrives at one minute past midnight November 8, on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Expected to be the biggest selling game of 2011, it's billing itself as "The Most Anticipated Game in History", is rammed with "badass firepower" that's as "Bloody as ever".

So far this year Gears of War 3 has been in the running for most popular game, selling 3 million copies in its first week and making over US $1billion over its lifetime.

But Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is expected to destroy those figures, or as GameSpy put it "Activision's shareholders will go laughing all the way to the bank... before taking a dip in their expensive swimming pools filled entirely with liquid gold."

The sequel to 2009's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, CoDMW 3 takes you on a tour of Paris, Berlin and New York as you stick it to that nasty Russian Ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov as he tries to bring the world to its knees.

Characters up for the task of resisting his Rusky nastiness include Task Force 141 Captain John "Soap" MacTavish, former SAS Captain John Price and new playable characters from Delta Force and the British SAS.

Set pieces in single player mode see you take on the Russian in attacks on global capitals like Washington and Paris, opening up to two-player Co-op Survival mode and customisable strike packages that provide more combat modes.

Prices across the UK are as low as £34.85 on Simply Games and pre-order is open now.
