Francisco Blake Mora, Mexico's Interior Minister, Among Eight Killed In Helicopter Crash

Mexico's Secretary of the Interior, Francisco Blake Mora, has been killed in a helicopter crash near to Mexico City.

Officials said that the helicopter was on its was to Cuernavaca when it crashed, killing the eight people on board. It is not known was caused the crash.

Some Mexican news sources reported very thick cloud in the area at the time of the incident, and showed wreckage on a hillside.

As interior secretary Blake Mora was seen as the top official in Mexico after the president, and was a key figure in Mexico's fight against drug cartels.

One Blake Mora's predecessors at the interior minister, Juan Camilo Mourino, died in a light plane crash in 2008 also near to Mexico City.
