VIDEO:Ex-Arsenal Player Emmanuel Eboue Pelted With Missiles During Match

Ex-Arsenal player Emmanuel Eboue was pelted with water bottles and cigarette lighters during a football match in Turkey.

In a shocking video, the Ivory Coast football player was forced to shield himself with his hands as soon as he came within spitting distance of the touchline, as the crowd threw missiles at the 28-year-old player.

Disgusted fans took to twitter to discuss the treatment of Eboue during game between Galatasaray and Besiktas.

@GoonerTalk tweeted "Emmanuel Eboue has been playing in Turkey for less than 3 months and he's already been racially abused. Turkish football absolute disgrace."

Sadly scenes like this occur often in Turkish football and there is nothing to suggest the abuse was racially motivated. However in the wake of the racism row with Fifa President Sepp Blatter, the video footage has provoked further debate about the need to eradicate bad behaviour in football.
