Bastien Champenois, Three, Dies After Father 'Put Him In Washing Machine' As Punishment

Boy Killed In Washing Machine

A Three-year-old has died after his father allegedly stuffed him in a washing machine and switched it on as a "punishment" for throwing classmate's drawing down a toilet, it has been reported.

Bastien Champenois' 33-year-old father Christophe was charged with "murder of a minor" on Sunday night, according to court sources. Mr Champenois is said to have stripped his son naked and pushed him into the machine to punish him for the nursery school prank.

The father allegedly then ran the cold cycle wash for a few minutes, which is thought to have killed his son. French police said the three-year-old, who neighbours described as "angelic", died of head injuries on Friday night.

The incident took place at the family home on Friday in Germigny-l'Eveque, Meaux, which is 40km east of Paris.

According to Le Parisien, Bastien's mother Charlene recovered her son from the washing machine. The 25-year-old ran to her neighbour, known only as Alice, and told her the toddler had fallen down the stairs.

Alice told the French newspaper she picked him up and "his limbs were as loose as those of a rag doll".

"I felt his heart beat for the last time and then he died", she said.

According to Bastien's five-year-old sister Maud, it was not the first time her younger brother had been put in the washing machine by his father as a punishment.

Neighbours told Le Parisien the boy had been abused repeatedly. Bastien is reported to have been locked up for hours in a cupboard and left on a window sill wrapped in just a blanket.

Evelyne, the boy's grandmother, described him as "an unwanted child".

"On the day he was born, his father was out drinking and when I told him he had a son, he said that he didn't want him", the Daily Mail reported.

Champenois is currently under investigation for murdering his child and a judge in Meaux has charged Charlene, a mother of seven, for failing to prevent a crime and failing to assist a person in danger.

Both have been placed in custody and their surviving children have been taken into care.

Flowers and a picture of three-year-old child Bastien are seen at the entrance of the family home on Monday.

I think that anybody who would hurt another person should be thrown in jail and raped for the rest of their life, barely sustaining on a handful of cheerios a day, until they are slowly tortured to death, preferably by removing greater and greater sections of their appendages until they bleed to death. Anybody who would wish harm on another does not deserve to live in this world, and should be brutally murdered. This is what happens when people lose their faith in God.

What "is what happens when people lose their faith in God"? The man killing his son or coming up with that sadistic idea of yours above.

The former and present presidents of the US have 'faith in God'. Take a trip to Iraq or Afghanistan to see if your theory applies there. Or...just skim your bible for a list of the "faithful" who also wish harm on others...

In Northern Ireland in the 70,s I asked an officer how we could tell who was friend and who was foe he replied "shoot em all and let St peter sort em out" well St Peter must love the US and US as we keep him in a never ending job.
Sad is it not that Hague is looking to start a war so he can go down in history as an hero just so long as he makes a few bob and never has to risk his own life but he is prepared to sacrifice our young in an effort to keep his snout in the trough Red xxx

Is your name a joke? You just wished a lot of harm on people. Far from loving! Granted, I can think of lots of ways I could deal with someone like that, but that's God's territory and for now, the law's.
My 3 yr old. grandson just had his head on my lap crying because he wanted pie for breakfast. Then I read this story..guess what he's having? How can ANY man with a heart and a soul hurt not only a child but his own? (so-called "wanted child" or not!)

If theres anything I can commend the french judicial system for it is getting the mother with failing to prevent a crime. I love it. That mother would have gotten away just fine here in the US

give him to the death penalty, this person does not deserve to breathe, hope he gets his just deserts

God bless that poor little mite. How is it that in this day and age we still breed monsters who can do this to a little boy or girl ? We look at history and read of the terrible things man has done to others over the years, torture, maiming, killing for trivial offences etc, and we like to think we are more civilised now. Then some sub human like the father of the murdered child comes along, and we realise we still have people with less feeling than a wild animal. A wild animal reacts to a situation, it doesnt take pleasure in killing, mostly. A so called "human" thinks about how to cruelly murder a helpless child and follows his plan to do it.

Nice of the apathetic neighbors to contact authorities to help the 'angelic' abused boy. They're as guilty as he is. That is HORRIBLE. That poor child. And the grandmother? What a you know what. (insert worse word you can think of)

They're gonna charge the mother with 'failure to prevent a crime' ? Maybe they should start charging cops for not 'stopping crimes' - dicks.

Am I reading this correctly? The neighbors knew he was being severely abused and did...nothing? The grandmother, by her own admission, knew that he was an unwanted child. It's so sad that he wasn't given up for adoption.
