Neon Night Surfing At Bondi Beach

Neon Night Surfing At Bondi Beach

Nevermind the sharks, or the fact that these Australians are celebrating summer while we freeze our bits off here in the UK, this is an excellent application of light technology.

Neon night surfing was the idea of a bunch of Australian Creatives from District Agency, who had always wanted to strap on the glow sticks and take to the waves.

Bondi, synonymous for beach in any language, was the ideal location.

Surfing filmmaker Jack McCoy (Endless Summer II) along with Bali Strickland and Eugene Tan (who run surf cam website Aquabumps) shot 17 surfers on summer's eve.

The men and women, including Bondi Rescue lifeguards, Corey Oliver and Andrew Reid, wore custom-made glow-in-the-dark wetsuits and surfboards, and wooped it up as they welcomed the new season in high tech style.
