Gary Barlow X Factor: Take That Star Tells Misha B She Won't Win Because Of Tulisa's 'Bully' Claim

Misha B

Gary Barlow has shattered the dreams of X Factor hopeful Misha Bryan by telling her that she will not win the competition because of allegations made about her off-stage behaviour.

Earlier in the series judge Tulisa Contostavlos had accused Misha of being "mean" to other contestants. Louis Walsh went further by suggesting she had been a "bully", but was later forced to apologise on the show.

Tonight, after Misha sang to try and secure herself a place in next week's final, Take That star Gary told her: "I have sat here and witnessed your journey throughout this competition and I can't help but feel a little bit sad.

"You have been wrongfully accused in the past of being someone that you are not.

"The really horrible truth behind this is, even if you're lucky enough to get through tomorrow night, I don't think you can win this competition because of that and that's a real shame."

Misha looked shocked at his comments and, after a long pause, said: "I am just really grateful I have had the opportunity to make my dreams into a reality."

Amelia Lily was compared to Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson after singing Ain't No Mountain High Enough. After making the comparison, Louis said: "You are only 17 years old. You absolutely killed that big Motown song."

Girl Group Little Mix did not receive rave reviews for their performances. After their attempt to take on The Supremes, Louis told them "It was like you lost your mojo."

Marcus Collins was told that Motown week was "made for him" after his rendition of The Temptations' song My Girl.

Tomorrow night, one act will be booted from the show, revealing the finalists for this year's contest.

Gary Barlow was right: Misha B could never have won. Once allegations are made in the public they might has well be true, for all the difference it makes from denying them. Tulisa Contostavlos, by accusing Misha B live on air, where she had no scope to address the accusations, sealed her X-Factor coffin. She, and Louis who escapes with just minor scathing, are both in the media and must have know that their comments would cause irreparable damage. The respect they gave their own acts by concealing their names, should have been extended to the talented young girl on stage.

Sadly Barlow was right (although he was wrong to make that point as it helped I'm sure sway people's votes).  Yet again the press took someone they did not like in the competition and posted stories that were little more than salacious tabloid.  And shame on the X Factor for not properly supporting or protecting all their acts.

It is true none of us knew if this rumour was true or the complaint of someone annoyed that Mischa B got through.  However it is without doubt that this story changed the public view against her and this was shown after week after week of bottom 2 showing.

It would be niave of me to say "I thought this was a singing competition" because evidently it boils down to who the public likes - in a singing competition vote, Mischa B wins hands down and then some.

I thought it was a travesty that she has lost in the semi finals but I do agree with others who say that she has the talent to produce an career of her own.  As my husband said to me last night "this is the year where the winner will be oversahdowed by the career of a runner up" (like Leon)

if misha B is as good as people think she is, then she will make her own fortune without the x factor, only time will tell how good she really is,

we as a nation where called biggots on this verry portal at the weekend the person who called us biggots is wrong to even write the article, this woman thought she had this show won weeks ago which showed in her overall body language which at times i thought was quite smug eg m and s add we are becoming fed up of so manny singers with the same mo we are now looking for somthing different i am tired of the card being played when it all goes wrong peoples choice at the end of the day

The fact is Misha B is the most talented/gifted standout of the current crop. Undeniable. So glaringly obvious. Time will prove me right on this. She was like a professional performing with amateurs. Has nothing to do with race, gender, culture, ethnicity........

How wrong you are. The way she "sings" her chosen songs is very flat and out of tune. She is the least talented of the remaining contestants.

"Like a professional performing with amateurs" is another way to get yourself no voting. Paradoxically in order to win a contest like this you need to not be the best, so you benefit from the "plucky underdog" vote. People who are too good don't get votes, either because people assume they'll get enough votes to sail through, or because the media brands them arrogant. Pleasant mediocrity wins this competition.

Why does it have to be about racism? X Factor is a popularity contest, plain and simple - if it were a talent show then Danyl Johnson would have won from his first audition. If the audience likes you, you'll win, simple as. He's right in saying Tulisa and Louis probably torpedoed her chances before it ever got this far, but he's contributing to it by bringing it up again this close to the finals.

Before you jump to cry "racism", remember JLS, Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis, the most successful acts in the show's history?

Well done Gary....NOT! You've further solidified in the public consciousness, the idea that Mischa is in fact a bully. Further, to imply that someone "cannot win" is in itself, more than a bit shameful. I do believe, as other posters have mentioned, that the economic climate has brought out the worst in people, namely, that people have resorted to baser instincts like racism. In this "someone is to blame" culture, immigtants, blacks, and other ethnics will always carry the blame when in actuality, its the wealthy bankers and politicians who are responsble for the current economic state of affairs. I do hope that if Mischa does not win xfactor, she at least goes on to secure a recording contract and thereby profit from her prodigious talent.

I agree - he did not have to say that, but then it's not the first time he has used his comments to belittle the artist who is a rival to his own.

Although I have to say I do not believe this was racism as many artists have won or had successful careers who are from minority backgrounds.  I think this was simply about the tabloids creating a monster

Its just about the comments made by the other judges, its the economic climate we in which racism has risen and as a result people like Misha B will be on the recieving end, so no matter how good she sings , no one is going to vote for her

They must have voted for her in order for her to get where she is, people who scream "racism" as soon as things don't go the way they want are really tiresome, and I don't know whether you've noticed or not but it's white eastern Europeans who are bearing the brunt of the whining vis a vis the economic situation.

Gary i do really appreciate your honesty in this competition. I hope Misha B understands that you are only paying her a compliment and exposing the shame of the system in which racism has gotten into the public mind that they can reject someone with talent simply for not looking like them. Misha B should be proud of herself. She is the best but wont win because the winner is not based on talent and competence but on colour. The biggest shame of a society in the 21st century.

No, that's what you want to believe it of course completely ignores the fact that this contest is usually won by BLACK people of all hues.  People like you who scream "racism" where none exists or when things don't go your way are really tiresome, immature and quite dangerous.

Find a real issue to sink your teeth into, there are plenty around.
