Barack Obama Admits He Has A Crush On Meryl Streep

Who Does Barack Obama Have A Crush On?

During a speech at the Kennedy Centre, in Washington on Monday he said: "Anybody who saw The French Lieutenant's Woman had a crush on her”

The two-time Oscar winning actress was at the White House event receiving recognition for the contribution her acting has made to US Culture. No doubt Obama is anticipating her performance as Margaret Thatcher, the Conservative prime minister dubbed the ‘Iron Lady’ for her ability to stick with her decisions.

Honouring cellist Yo-Yo Ma with whimsical comment on his currently popularity, Obama said:

"Maybe the most amazing thing about Yo-Yo Ma is that everybody likes him,'' the president said. "You've got to give me some tips."

Songwriter Neil Diamond was also paid tribute to along with singer Barbara Cook, and saxophonist and composer Sonny Rollins.

The US president perhaps gave an inside glimpse into Christmas at the White House whilst commenting on Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’ too, saying:

"It's true - everybody sings Neil Diamond songs no matter how many drinks they've had,"

Caroline Kennedy sang Diamond’s famous hit, which was named after her, though the songwriter was quick to point out the song was about his relationship with his wife

"The story really is about my former wife and myself, but it is her name that I used, and I have to thank her for that."
