Incredibly Long Japanese Playground Slide Is Incredibly Awesome (Video)

Slide Japan

In Japan, they don't mess around when it comes to playground slides. Where Britain would make do with just a couple of metres of polished steel to slide down on, Japan goes the extra mile - almost literally.

Reminiscent of this seemingly never-ending Alpine slide that went viral last month, this 110 second-long YouTube video boasts a Japanese playground slide that stands several metres high above the ground.

The exact location of this slide is unknown, with the video emerging on CollegeHumor.com with no extra details other than it was "from Japan" - but it's so damn brilliant it's impossible not to share it with you.

As well as this particular slide, there are more than a couple of other brilliant Japanese playground contraptions out there, so here's a video gallery that gathers them all up below.

All together now: "Weeeee!"

Sigh. It's almost like being there. Almost.

For the people crying 'fake'.. there are slides like this all over Japan and I've been on a few with my son. Here's another long one on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vncEVV7KkU8

I want a go!.... Lets get rid of the 'Elf 'n' Safety bunch and build one over here.. For a start it would get the kids (who as the nanny state tell us are all fat) out running around!

Lousy. So, every time a kid's done sliding, he has to walk 30 minutes uphill in order to slide again. Talk about fun. You don't have time to slide once and recess is over.

I agree, the movement of the supporting rings seems wrong, very false.

Looks very computer generated to me.

I've been on slides like that (I live in Japan), but nothing quite that long! They are pretty cool, but if you don't use one of the provided cushions, your bum can get pretty sore from those rollers!
