Eddy and Pats do OTT on the slopes. BBCThe fashion industry's reputation as a place of excess, decadence and over-the-top behaviour has never been captured quite so hilariously as in the BBC's hit show, Absolutely Fabulous. Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley's Edina and Patsy's booze-fuelled, pill-popping, narcissistic lifestyles were anchored in the fashion world, and the lovable deluded twosome's irreverent sense of style was key to making the show so iconic. It's La Croix, darling, after all.
Patsy's ex-model frame (she hasn't eaten since 1974, remember?) was always encased in dramatic print blouses, 80s power blazers and lots of black leather and mini-skirts, topped off with that iconic beehive 'do and black shades, while Edina's dysfunctional dressing had her in head-to-toe clashing prints, ridiculous headpieces and Adidas tracksuits with heels. Part of thrill of the show was that these characters would do anything, say anything and wear anything, so you never knew what to expect - and each outrageous outfit was more OTT than the last one.
We can't wait for the Ab Fab Christmas special to hit our screens again this Christmas, promising many more exciting fashion moments (and even Stella McCartney is slated to make a cameo). Until then, crack open the Bolly and check out our gallery of favourite fashion and beauty moments from the show.
