The famous mum of nineteen and her husband, Bob attended a medical appointment yesterday to find out the sex of their baby, but the doctor was unable to find a heartbeat.
Michelle, 45, said: "After the appointment, we came back home and told the children. We had just been talking about baby names last night and they were getting excited about naming a boy or a girl. It has been a real sad disappointment."
The couple are famous in America for their enormous brood, and have said they leave their family planning to God, and choose not to use birth control.
Their last baby, Josie, was born premature after Michelle suffered pre-eclampsia. The little girl arrived three months early and weighed just 1lb 6oz.
Michelle says the family will choose a name for their lost baby once they know if it was a boy or girl. They will also organise a funeral service.
But, Michelle added: "The Lord is the giver of life and he can choose when that life is ready to go on and be with him."
Very sad for the family - we wonder if there will be happier news from them in the future though, given their views on birth control?
