SuBo: 'I've Finally Laid My Demons To Rest'

Susan Boyle has opened up about her insecurities in an honest blog for HuffPost Celebrity.

The world famous star - who shot to fame after her audition for Britain's Got Talent went viral - has admitted she finally feels confident after beating her demons, calling 2011 'the best year of her life'.

SuBo spent time in the Priory where she was assessed under the mental heath act after she failed to win the talent show, but the singer now feels she is finally getting used to life in the spotlight.

"My insecurities were building day by day in a vice-like grip, but after a good talking to I'm learning to be happy, learning to accept what my life has become, learning to control my temper and above all enjoying the moments I am experiencing now," she said.

"In 2009, through the whirlwind of Britain's Got Talent, suddenly being under a spotlight and analysed, I became afraid."

And while this year has proved to be one of her biggest years with trips to China and Australia as well as the release of her third album Someone To Watch Over Me, the famously private Susan believes it was an ITV documentary that proved to be one of her most significant moments.

Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstar aired last month and showed the singer going about her day-to-day business, and she admits it was a tough decision to allow the cameras into her life.

"The documentary was a risk, having cameras there following every moment of your life, even the most mundane," she explained. "A risk because once at home I enjoy my privacy, the moments I can reflect and where I can really be myself.

"If people knew me and had a better insight, then hopefully that would bring understanding and acceptance."
