Home For New Year: World's Third Smallest Baby Set To Leave Hospital This Christmas

Little Melinda Star Guido was born weighing just 270g, making her the second smallest baby to be born in America, and the third in the world.

She has amazed doctors by gaining enough weight and strength to be allowed home for the New Year.

Melinda was born 24 weeks premature by Caesarean section. Her mum, Haydee Labarra is excited to have her little girl home for the festive period, saying: "She's been through a lot, and made it. A lot of people doubted that she could do it."
