The Christmas Feeling Starts Today, Study Reveals

Are You Feeling Christmassy? You’re Not Alone…

Today is the day when Britons begin to get that Christmas feeling, a study has found.

Maybe it’s something to do with the Christmas decorations being up, the office Christmas party on the horizon and the sound of festive songs on the radio - but today is the day that the majority of us quit the 'bah humbug' act and start feeling Christmassy.

The survey by National Express found that a third of Brits admit that receiving their first Christmas card helps get them in the festive spirit while a quarter of them say it’s the smell of a real Christmas tree that gets them daydreaming about the big day.

Turning on the Christmas lights, watching festive movies and eating mince pies also spark that festive feeling.

And it seems the Christmassy feeling not only puts a spring in our step, it makes us be nicer to each other, too. Nearly two thirds said that they were more generous around Christmas and more likely to give other people their time. A fifth of those polled also said that they got on with their family better over the festive period.
