Cheryl Cole And Harry Judd Ban Alcohol This Christmas

Cheryl And Harry Off The Sauce

It may be the time of year to eat, drink and be merry, but there are two celebs who've slapped themselves with a booze ban this Christmas.

Cheryl Cole has banned alcohol from a Christmas lunch following band mate Sarah Harding's stint in rehab to beat alcohol addiction.

The former X Factor judge has invited Sarah and other Girls Aloud singers Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh to her North London home for a festive feast.

In a bid to support Sarah, Cheryl will be keeping the alcohol firmly locked away. Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "With Sarah Harding having just left rehab, Cheryl doesn't want to make it into a drunken dinner so isn't planning on having any wine involved."

It was after a recent dinner with two of the girls that Sarah realised she had a problem. She recently told Hello! magazine: "I saw Nicola and Kimberley for dinner. I wasn't in a good state at all - I was very hungover. But the first thing I wanted to do was open a bottle of wine. I know they were really worried about me."

The Christmas dinner will be the perfect alcohol-free occasion for the band to catch up. A source told The Sun: "Cheryl is going all out. She has already ordered all the food and is determined to cook everything herself. She's doing the full works, turkey with all the trimmings, and the lunch table will be laid with crackers and other traditional Christmas decorations."

However, the dinner has left a Girls Aloud reunion in question as estranged bandmate Nadine Coyle will not return from the States for the occasion.

Also off the sauce this festive season is Strictly Come Dancing champion Harry Judd.

The 25-year-old is off the booze and he credits his new-found sobriety with his Strictly victory. He says: "I stopped drinking last year and that has been a good thing for me on Strictly as I've had no hangovers and I've really been able to focus.

"The tough thing is there is an amazing crew on Strictly and they've all been saying, 'We'll have a drink tonight Harry,' and I feel like, 'How am I going to explain this?' I don't enjoy drinking any more. I only ever used to drink to get drunk. I could drink if I wanted, but I don't. I'd rather get to bed, as I'm so exhausted."
