Police Called Out To Their Own Plain Clothes Christmas Party In Hartlepool

Police Christmas Party

Police have been called out to their own CID Christmas party.

Staff at the Staincliffe Hotel, in Seaton Carew, near Hartlepool, reported that three patrol cars and police dogs were called to the bash for Cleveland Police's plain clothes detectives on Thursday night.

Sources said the call-out was over an argument between one of the police party and a woman and there had been no violence or arrests.

Jennifer Taylor, a manager at the hotel, said staff were unaware of any problem until the police arrived.

She told the Northern Echo: "I wasn't the duty manager that night but I know it wasn't us who actually called the police.

"What I do know, which was really quite annoying, is that we had a problem with eight men who smashed up the toilet the week before and we did call the police and they sent one officer on his own.

"On Thursday night, there's some disagreement and no ructions but they send three cars, including the dog section."

The hotel operations manager stressed there was no problem from the hotel's point of view, and said the whole incident boiled down to a misunderstanding.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "Police were called but were unable to substantiate any complaint and there is no ongoing investigation.

"We contacted the lady on the Friday and she did not wish to make any complaint."

Sorry if this is off topic but read on A friend of mine left the A55 in his works van a Police car followed him to his home .. They were adament that he was doing 80 mph before he left the duel carrigway and started to book him untill he Sowed them proof that the van had been governed to 60mph they still tried to book him untill his boss turned up to confirm it.Just shows how desperate they are to build up their brownie points. Can't think of a printable word for them for what they tried to do.

All the pigs' noses in one trough - some of them are just thugs under a uniform. Why would you vandalise a Toilet!?
Unfortunately, had to call the Police when a yob spat in my face and was assaulted when asked him to pick his dog's doo-doo [but the Police said they were too busy at the time to send someone out. Told me they would send someone out shortly]. No one ever came. Yet they are happy to scramble squad cars to help their own.

Never a Policeman when you need them but always around at school runs with their speed guns to stop parents speeding taking their kids to school. Pathetic. They should all be on the beat. Disappointed and disillusioned with the Public services!

Certainly hope they are about on the school run with speed guns, far too many thoughtless and inconsiderate mothers driving like lunatics, you would think mothers with children would have more sense.

So they intimidated the lady into not pressing any charges or filing a complaint. In the meantime the others who showed up for the 'trouble' were likely only there to see how much they could get into themselves. Hope all the ones on duty had to take a breathalyzer test when they got back to the station at the end of their shift.

Hope the Police pay for this one themselves & the overtime

Fully agree.
P.S. Sincerely hope that Herr Taser does not benefit from the anomily whereby Attempted Murder attracts a lesser sentence than Murder - it's obtuse to reward failure and imcompetence. Sorry for the hijack - there is so little opportunity for comment on too many topics!

You said it. The problem is that they were on the public dime so why should they be partying instead of working when they are supposed to be working?
