Kim Kardashian Responds To Haiti Criticism

'Haiti Visit Was NOT A Fashion Show'

Reality star Kim Kardashian has expressed disappointment at speculation from the media that her recent trip to Haiti wasn't all that it seemed.

The star, who is basically famous for being famous, was accused of using the trip to relax and pamper herself whilst telling the world she was travelling to the earthquake-stricken country to learn about charity work being carried out there.

In a statement on her blog, Kim said: "As some of you know, my mom and I flew out to Haiti earlier this month to meet with Maria Bello and embark on an amazing journey together in Haiti. Our mission was to learn more about Maria’s charity, We Advance, meet the Haitian people who have made such amazing progress since the devastating earthquake in 2010, and celebrate the women of Haiti, who inspired me more than I ever could have anticipated."

Kim, one of the many Kardashian clan, was distraught at the fact she had been accused of attending a fashion show whilst on the trip rather than carrying out her charitable duties and accused the press of trying to "tarnish the motive behind her visit".

She said: "The National Enquirer wrote that I went to a fashion show in Haiti and then spent a fortune pampering myself! The truth is that I was at the Haitian Artisan Fair, where the amazing men and women who make their jewellery and crafts sell them to visitors to make a living, and I bought some of their beautiful jewellery after the fashion show!!"

Kim who described her trip as "life changing" added: "I think it’s important that I share my experiences with you all, rather than you read false reports in the media. I have some really great stories and photos from my trip and I’m so excited to share them with you all!"

We think that was a rather nice thing of Kim to do!
