Adele Starts Basic Vocal Training After Throat Surgery

Superstar Back In Voice

Soul sensation Adele is bouncing back from throat surgery - she's begun taking "basic" vocal training lessons.

The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker underwent an operation in November to repair a recurrent throat condition and she is on doctors' orders to rest.

But the British star is gradually regaining her vocal strength and she's starting to test out her new voice.

A source tells UsMagazine.com, "(Adele is) in a great place at the moment... She recently started some basic vocal training (but) she's taking it slowly."

And the singer is planning to take her time as she celebrates Christmas with her family.

The insider says, "She's not going out raving or drinking. It's going to be really quiet...

"(She) wants to keep a low profile... She's hoping the first half of next year can be pretty low-key - no concerts, TV shows, magazine interviews, music or anything like that. As she puts it, she wants to just take it easy and enjoy a well deserved break, with no pressure to record or perform."

Adele showed off a slimmer look on Wednesday as she wished her fans on Twitter.com happy holidays.

Uploading a photo of herself, she wrote, "Back on the grind. Hair and make up did (sic). Merry Christmas! Axx"
