New Competition To Find Britain's Worst Photographer

Are These Britain's Worst Photographers?

It feels like only yesterday (it was yesterday) that we were celebrating the country’s best amateur photographers.

Well, in the interest of balance, we’d now like to celebrate some of the worst entries in a new competition to find the country’s most inept amateur photographer.

Photography tuition company Red Cloud believe they can teach anyone to use a camera properly.

To test their theory, they’re inviting members of the public to submit their worst shots and nominate themselves or others as the UK’s most dire snapper.

Red Cloud director Lee Bown said: "When people constantly say 'I'm a bad photographer - I'm beyond help' - we disagree, which is why the winner gets free training on any of our advertised courses.

"The number one mistake people make is thinking that buying a good camera will do the work for them! They need to understand the techniques and skills to take a great photo. Its like somebody buying a set of golf clubs and expecting to play like Lee Westwood!"

So, if you’ve ever wanted to feel like Rankin, take a look at some of the staggeringly awful submissions they’ve had so far:

And, just for contrast, here are the winning entries in Amateur Photographer Of The Year 2011:

Pictures should be submitted, with the photographer’s permission, to badpics@redclouddays.co.uk before the end of February.

Competition entries can be viewed at www.redclouddays.co.uk, where people will be able to vote for their favourite ‘worst’ image.
