Florence Welch arrived open the Harrods sale on Tuesday after arriving on a green double-decker bus.

Welch's band, Florence And The Machine, played tracks for shoppers and the waiting crowds outside, some of whom had been waiting overnight to grab the best deals.

They became the first music act in the store's 177-year history to open the sales.

Welch, dressed in Chanel, sang songs including Shake It Out and What The Water Gave Me.

Reports said that business at the store was "brisk", with discounts of up to 50% on some goods.
