Girl, 7, Gets £7,000 Liposuction Voucher From 'Human Barbie' Mum, Sarah Burge

Human Barbie Mum Buys Daughter Liposuction Voucher

The Huffington Post UK   First Posted: 04/01/12 12:28 GMT Updated: 04/01/12 12:36 GMT

While most little girls received a stocking full of toys this Christmas, seven-year-old Poppy Burge got a £7,000 liposuction voucher from her mother. What's more, she was thrilled with her gift.

"I put the voucher in her stocking - there's nothing wrong with that. She asks for surgery all the time. She wants to look good and liposuction is one of those procedures that will always come in handy," Poppy’s mum, Sarah Burge, told Closer magazine.

This isn't the first time Poppy has received a plastic surgery voucher from her mum. The first was a £6,000 breast implant voucher to be redeemed when she turns 16, presented to her on her seventh birthday. If she develops naturally large breasts in the meantime, she'll be free to use her voucher to "correct" something else, promises her mother.

"Poppy begged me for a boob job, so I gave her the voucher so she can have it when she’s 16 and it's legal,” Sarah explains. “I can't wait to be like Mummy with big boobs. They're pretty," adds Poppy.

Unsurprisingly, Poppy's mother, Sarah, is no stranger to the surgery's knife herself. The plastic surgery addict has had over £500,000 worth of 'MOT' surgery including a facelift, liposuction and bottom implants to top up her existing £25,000 worth of work, earning herself the ‘Human Barbie’ name tag.

"I see these vouchers as investing in her future - like saving for her education," Sarah adds, matter-of-factly. "I think it's right that young people should have a 'plastic surgery pension' so they can correct things as they get older."

Mrs Burge, who runs a swingers' club with her husband Tony, hosts plastic surgery parties and has also released an autobiography called, The Half A Million Pound Girl. She has two other daughters Charlotte, 27 and Hannah, 17, and a stepdaughter, Jazzy, who have all had Botox and are planning more surgery in the near future.

"Some people think it's controversial and I get angry when strangers say I'm a bad mother because I don't think there's any harm in giving her this gift," says Sarah, defending her plastic surgery gift.

"Poppy is a normal kid who is good at sports and loves playing outside. She lives in a household of plastic surgery, so she knows surgery's important to look good. She might want to be a glamour model when she grows up.

"Girls don't want Snow White and Cinderella any more. They want to be WAGs and famous like Cheryl Cole and Lady Gaga. I'm just supporting her and making her dreams come true. Looks are a big part of how our futures pan out - there shouldn't be a stigma around wanting to look good," Sarah adds.

The full story is available in this week's Closer magazine, out now.

Oh, by the way - Poppy can't actually have any surgery until she's 18.

Mom is a little crazy, sure - but here's what she says:

"I’m an associate of plastic surgery companies and decided that by taking advantage of me trade I would invest in my children’s future with gifts of Plastic surgery vouchers! I don’t pay for them and they are as I consider a bond which from the age of 18 my children can either decided to have plastic surgery if they so wish, or they can sell them or cash them in. It’s like money in the bank as far as I’m concerned. People often ask “why don’t you invest in their education like university for instance”. Well! I’m not an associate of a university Sarah replies, if I was then that would indeed be the case but they can cash them in as I say and use it for whatever means.

I’m often accused through people’s ignorance that I shouldn’t be encouraging plastic surgery to a 7 year old.

I’m not but this is my trade if I was a dentist would people still be up in arms about it. After all, Poppy wants to be plastic surgeon when she’s older. So I guess she will be cashing in that voucher after all to take herself of to Uni(versity)".

No, she didn't. This is a total publicity stunt, staged by mom and dad to promote their reality TV show, "Meet The Burges".

Doesn't the UK have social services or child welfare? In the US, emotional abuse like this is enough to have the child taken away and the parent evaluated to see if she/he is unfit. These gifts are telling the child that she WILL be unhappy with how she turns out, and it WILL NOT be good enough, and she is already showing signs that she is not going to be good enough for her mother, so mommy is already buying her surgeries. She's not an enthusiast of surgery, she's an addict. And to wish that upon her child tells me that she may also be a sadist. The fact that she likes to have her own surgeries done while she's awake tells me she may have sado-masochistic tendencies which she should not be allowed to put upon her daughter. This mother needs to be stopped and the child needs to be put into a situation where she is allowed to be a child. The money should be saved for her education, not surgery. This is sick.

The money would be better spent on getting a tutor so that the child could actually be better prepared for life and the workforce.

Silly - with a perfect face, bustline, and booty the idea is that she won't actually NEED to be in the workforce as the rest of us know it :)

What does she get a gift certificate of equal value for every procedure she gets?

What an abusive mother. Poppy need to be taken from the lunatic and given to someone who will cherish Poppy for who she is not a plastic doll . It is time we learn to love people for who they are not how they look. Tkae those vouchers and give them to a child who need surgery because of some medial condition.

The govt should get on with banning air-brushing in media with the UTMOST haste - no wonder women and girls have such distorted views of what they "should" look like.

There I was thinking that the "free" world was the shining example on how to view and treat women...well that's what the media is currently telling me.

Yes, obviously she is not supporting her daughter. She doesn't even SEE her daughter. She is projecting herself onto the daughter, who has already learned that to please her mum, she must ask for surgeries and be all about her mum and her mum's desires. The child ceases to exist and becomes nothing more than a projection of the mother. If this is allowed to continue, the child will face years and years of therapy to figure out who the heck she really is, and figure out how to extract herself from the person she has been made into by this overbearing mother - I do know this from experience. These are not Poppy's dreams, these are the mother's dreams, but she's brainwashing the child to think they are her own idea, her own dreams. Someone, please, step in and rescue this child! This is not entertaining, this is child abuse!

OMG - remove this child from the madhouse now! This is the direct result of low self esteem and no brains in both the mother and father. These surgery vouchers could kill this child. The likelihood that an unethical Doctor will do these procedures is 100% and when we read the headlines in the future asking us to "remember Poppy" will be talking about her demise at the hands of her parents?

Can't be used until the kid is 18. This is the UK, not the US.

And the mom admits she didn't pay for them, but they are redeemable for cash.

Sure got your attention, though, didn't she?
