Just in case you missed it, Diane Abbott tweeted something rather daft/offensive/racist/adjective-of-your-choice last night.
What she tweeted exactly was: "White people love playing divide and rule. We should not play their game #tacticsasoldascolonialism".
And while you may or may not agree with her opinion (personally, I don't. To my mind, white people love playing hide and seek), we can all probably agree on one thing. That she was probably unwise to express it on Twitter.
Because, dear Diane, there are two things you need to know about Twitter. One: a deleted tweet still gets spotted. And two: the only thing Twitter loves more than being outraged is mocking people (and their outrage).
So, without further ado: here are some of the funny tweets made at Diane Abbott's expense... so far:
Diane Abbott: Stephen Lawrence Verdict: This Week's Convictions Are Not the End of Anything
Antony Timlin: Diane Abbott: Politics and Technology - The Minefield of Social Media
Jackie Doyle-Price: Twitter - The Perfect Vehicle for Empty Vessels
