Kerry Katona Sobs On 'Daybreak' As She Watches Infamous 'This Morning' Appearance

'She Looks So Lost. That's Not Me'

Kerry Katona has spoken of her happiness at being back on the straight and narrow during an appearance on Daybreak.

The former Atomic Kitten has certainly had her ups and downs over the years following two failed marriages and struggles with depression and drug abuse.

In 2008, the 31-year-old set tongues wagging when she slurred her words and appeared intoxicated during an episode of This Morning.

When Kerry was shown footage of the infamous interview while appearing on Daybreak, she tearfully said: "She looks so lost. That's not me.

"That was pure medication. I was in a really unhappy marriage. I was taking a lot of class A drugs because I was depressed and I had nobody to blame but myself.

"I held my hands up and until you reach rock bottom, the only way is up."

On her life now, Kerry added: "I'm not slurring, I've had no medication, I've been clean for two years. When I watch that back it's like looking at somebody else. I feel so sorry for her but she's out of it now. She's happy!

"I have lovely children, my career is going from strength to strength."

Kerry was appearing on the breakfast show to promote Channel 5's Celebrity Wedding Planner, in which she took on the task of organising a young couple's wedding.

The star was delighted to tackle such an important challenge and explained that she was an expert at planning nuptials following her marriages to former Westlife crooner Brian McFadden and layabout Mark Croft.

She said: "I'm actually organising somebody else's wedding. About time really, I've had enough of my own.

"I've got two divorces under my belt. They were good weddings, they were belting weddings.

"At the time of filming, I was actually going through my second divorce to my second husband so I thought it might be a bit of help, a bit of therapy for me.

"I am still really old-fashioned. I believe in marriage. The first time I got married, for me, that was it forever. You know, grow old together, have a family and be together until the day you die.

"When I got married the second time. Well, I married the wrong person really."

After the somewhat harrowing discussion, a smiling Kerry joked: "I came on here really happy, I'm going off really miserable now."

Celebrity Wedding Planner begins on Friday 6 January.
