Anuj Bidve's Parents Visit Exact Spot Where Their Son Died (VIDEO)

The parents of murdered Indian student Anuj Bidve have visited the exact spot where their son was killed after being shot in the head on Boxing Day.

A shrine of flowers, burning candles and photographs of Anuj, 23, has now developed at the place where he died in Ordsall Lane, Salford.

Police closed streets around the crime scene as his mother, Yogini and father Subhash laid flowers during their emotional visit.

Mr Bidve said: "As you can imagine this has been an extremely difficult journey to make. Anuj was our only son and we cannot comprehend his death."

He added: "We do not blame the people of the city for what happened. The only person we blame is the man responsible for taking Anuj away from us."

Yesterday, his parents also met Anuj's fellow students and friends at Lancaster University and picked up his belongings.

They are expected to take their son's body home to India later today.

It is understood Anuj was in the UK on a shopping holiday and that he and his friends were on their way to the early morning Next sale in Manchester.

Futhermore - just announced - The family will return to India tonight with the body of their son. I care not about the whys and wherefores of how this was achieved so quickly but thankful at least the right thing has been done for one family in a timely fashion. I hope the family do not hate all British people for the sins of 1 piece of filth. I know if the roles were reversed I would find it hard to forgive not only the killer of my child but the land in which he came from. I hope you find peace of mind over time Bidve family.

i do really think we need the death penalty for mindless violent crimes like this, that are done by our feral youth?

I would like to see harsh penalties for those that keep churning out our feral youth too.
You just know that the parents of Kieran Stapleton will probably ask to be moved to a better house in a nicer area because they are worried how they'll be treated, every cloud has a silver lining . His parents should share his cell.

How amazingly generous of Mr Bidve to make such a statement, at such a time of grief:

"We do not blame the people of the city for what happened. The only person we blame is the man responsible for taking Anuj away from us"

Spot on Molli, I watched the mother and father of Anuj and I felt humbled and ashamed.
Mr. Bidve spoke with clarity and composure and a truly forgiving heart. I dont know that I could have done the same.......... God bless them

It's a terrible tragedy and it shows the hazards of being a stranger to an area. I've lived in this part of the world for several years and there's no way you'd find me on those streets at that hour. When you've lived in an area long enough you develop an insight based on knowledg and intuition and you know when you're heading for trouble. The lesson is that at night we should stay away from areas that are quiet and dark unless we know them well.
