Celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson has published a heartfelt apology on his website after being caught red-handed stealing cheese and wine from Tesco.
The star of Ready Steady Cook is now said to be "seeking treatment", after his actions at the Henley branch of the supermarket were caught on CCTV.
The chef's middle-class theft has provoked much amusement on Twitter, where users of the social media site are being less than kind.
It could be the ease of changing Ready Steady Cook to Ready Steady Crook, or perhaps Lord Alan Sugar wading in to take the Mickey out of the red-faced cuisinier, but the Twitterati has rounded on the celebrity chef with some rather amusing results.
