2012's Biggest Games

So, gamers. Been going a little too hard on the mince pies? It seems some of us have been over-indulging during the Christmas holidays if rising sales of fitness games are anything to go by.

Zumba Fitness has burst up the games charts for the first week of 2012, from number 19 to number six, hinting that perhaps some of us have been doing a little too much munching and not enough moving.

The action-based game is the only game to increase in sales this week, as we seemingly all splurged on first person shooters and sports games in time for Christmas.

Zumba Fitness is not the only popular fitness game. Just Dance 3 holds its place at number four on the gaming charts, while Zumba Fitness 2 limbers up to move from number 28 to number 12.

EA Sports Active 2 increased in sales to number 20, and Wii Fit Plus sprinted back into the top 40 at number 27.

The top selling games for the first week this year were FIFA 12 in top place, followed by Battlefield 3 at number two and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in third place.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is fifth most popular, followed by Need for Speed: The Run in seventh place, Saints Row: The Third at number eight, Rage at number nine.

Trailing the top ten in last place? Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

Which games did you buy over the Christmas holidays? Are you one of the Zumba fans?
