Heather Mills turned 44 today – and celebrated by posting a picture of herself wearing a swimsuit and posing in the snow.

The ex-model, who lost a leg after being hit by a police motorcycle, is currently training to be part of the Great British Ski team in time for the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Russia.

Last week she posted: “A fantastic ski this morning – I cannot believe how much snow there is. First race in a couple of weeks – so glad the hand has healed. “

Mills, who has a daughter with the ex-Beatle, was hospitalised last year after an accident in Austria during her training.

The vegan restaurant-owner crashed on Moelltaler glacier and was flown by helicopter to a hospital in the southern city of Lienz where she was diagnosed with a fractured right shoulder blade.

She reportedly bought a house in the region to live in as she trains.
