Neverdead - The First Ten Minutes

Neverdead - The First Ten Minutes

Neverdead. If there's ever a game title to give you nightmares, this is one.

Flaming decapitations, dismembered limbs as weapons, it's enough to give you the heeby jeebies, if it weren't for the picturesque Japanese rendering*.

Great news though! Much like one of those invasive star fish, limb regeneration is also a feature of this third person shooter. In fact, regeneration for Bryce is so easy, it makes you wonder why it's a feature at all.

Want the back story?

Mortal Bryce Boltzmann suffered terribly when Demon King Astaroth murdered his wife. But he was made immortal, which meant he could live to fight another day.

He's taken to fighting, like a fish to a pond, and in his nihilistic fashion, smashes along in the quest for his next alcoholic beverage in an horrific metaphor for everyday salary slave life.

Bryce has been smashing it up for 500 years following the murder, and now he destroys demons with the National Anti-Demon Agency(NADA) and his cyber-hot agency partner, Arcadia.

Now watch the first ten minutes (above) and the Xbox versus PS3 versions below, in which Bryce shakes his shooting stick at weird cupcake-like demon Sangria and nuts a fallen beam to splinters.

*not that I've seen a real flaming decapitation to compare it to.
