Sinead O'Connor In Hospital For Depression Treatment

'Not At All Well'

Sinead O'Connor has checked herself into hospital to get treatment for depression after saying that she is "not at all well".

The Irish singer logged on to Twitter to let her fans know that she would be "off radar" for a few weeks but reassured them that she is fine telling them to "worry not".

The singer wrote: "Gonna be off radar for few weeks. But will be back. Worry not. : )"

She added: "I'm going to hospital. Treatment for depression. Not at all well. But they will put me back together quick. So will be back.. and smiling. Prolly 2 weeks ish.."

The news comes just days after Sinead revealed that her whirlwind marriage to 38-year-old drugs counsellor Barry Herridge was over.

The couple originally split in December after just 16 days of marriage when it was revealed Sinead went on the hunt in for drugs on their wedding night in Las Vegas. But the couple reconciled after a night of passion before finally ending their relationship last week.

Worried fans expressed their concerns over the hospital stay but the star reassured them that she was doing the right thing by seeking treatment and that she could be in trouble if she didn't get help.

Replying to a concerned fan, she wrote: "I be grand in few weeks. Was right decision to call hospital. They fab. Good team. I be me again in 2 weeks they say."

She added: "Don't want anyone worrying. Should only worry if a depressed person DOESN'T go hospital. All will be well. Just little time. : )"

Get well soon Sinead.
