Despite damaged bones and pulled muscles, Heidi Range says Dancing On Ice has helped her through her split from TV presenter Dave Berry.
The 28-year-old had been with then Capital Radio DJ for eight years with plans to marry, but they split up late last year on friendly terms.
Heidi says the break-up was the toughest ordeal of her life, but skating on the ITV show has got her through it.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, she said: "The end of last year was awful. We're still great friends and I saw him last week... but it's hard.
"This show has been brilliant. It's given me confidence and I've got my groove back."
The singer says she is excited about not knowing what is around the corner for once.
At one point her career was apparently so mapped out that her diary was booked three years in advance.
The Sugababe, who has lost more than a stone since her skating training began, is now thinking about a solo album and making a move into TV presenting.
