National TV Awards 2012 Winner Jonathan Ross Reveals 'Britain's Got Talent' Wish

Surely He'd Be A Natural!

Jonathan Ross picked up a special recognition gong at last night's National Television Awards.

The chatshow host said he had been "lucky" to win a few awards during his career, but he was now putting them "to one side" to make room for the gongs won by his screenwriter wife Jane Goldman.

Ross also revealed that in the future he would consider a return to radio, or even a seat on the judging panel of Britain's Got Talent.

He said he was "humbled" to receive his award, adding: "I'm amazed, like so many of you are, that I'm still working."

He then went on to thank his wife who he met 25 years ago, all those who have appeared on his show and all those who have ever watched his show.

The former Radio 2 DJ, whose career on the station ended with the Sachsgate scandal, later said backstage that he would love to go back to radio.

He said: "I was offered a show last year, a breakfast show, but it was a combination of not necessarily being the right channel for me and a lot of work."

The star added that it was "genuinely touching" to get the award from Sir Bruce Forsyth and thanked his rival, Graham Norton, for his "generous" praise.

Ross, who said he loved "old style variety acts", said he would like to be a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

He said: "I love Britain's Got Talent, I love all the talent shows on TV. If Cowell ever asked me I would definitely do it if I had the time."
